A baby boy entered this world on February third in the Netherland. And he is named Jack Joshua. I have not met this little one yet, but already I am his Nanna. I get to meet him and give him lots of cuddles on the 16th of this month. This will be my first time to travel alone.

Why is he special? He is special because he is my grandson. Number two. He has a brother Max who was born in Cardiff Two years ago on the third of March 2015.

Thought for the Day

Thought for the day. This post is a reminder to slow down. We we are usually rushing here and rushing there, that we rush past the beauty of nature. We show no gratitude for beauty that surrounds us. It is time to slow down.

Beautiful and thought provoking words from spiritualjourney17.com

Sometimes the most beautiful opportunities bloom on the roadside where life has created a split in the road of our lives.

Yet we are so busy contemplating which path to take that we don’t take time to rest and see or smell the pleasant scent of the beauty that surrounds us that could easily point us in the direction we are meant to take.

Enjoy your day! xo

What animal or insect is your Spirit Guide?

My spirit guide – the Butterfly

What animal or insect is your Spirit Guide? Count yourself very lucky if this beautiful insect as chosen to journey with you to be your spirit guide. They are a spirit guide that guides you through imagination, & transformation,

If the butterfly has chosen you to flutter besides on this journey, it is here to teach you to retain your sense of wonder and imagination. The butterfly wants you to create beauty in your life and the lives of others and to look for miracles in the smallest of places. She wants you to awaken to the magic that surrounds you. She will whisper to you to open your eyes and see the beauty and miracles that surround you.

The Butterfly Symbol

The Butterfly is a symbol of change, joy and love, & metamorphosis.

The Butterfly is a powerful symbol in myth and religion.

For Early Christians, it represented the soul itself. The butterfly used to be thought of as the soul of the departed still lingering amongst the living. What a beautiful thought!

In China, it symbolised conjugal bliss and joy.

In Native American culture, the butterfly is a symbol of Metamorphosis and Transformation. The symbol of new life, letting go of cycles and finding true inner expression

American Indians call upon the butterfly for guidance in change, colour, and happiness.

Butterflies are messengers of the moment and come in a wide array of colours.

The butterfly is one of the most inspiring symbols of the animal kingdom, knowing precisely the time to leave the comfort and limitations of the cocoon flying freely into the world.

The Butterfly Dance

The “dance of the butterfly” can teach you not to take things so seriously. The butterfly has taste sensors on the front legs, enabling them to experience life through motion (dancing, walking).

Butterflies do not know the colour of their wings, but human eyes know how beautiful they are. We can see the intricate details of its wings and the vivid colours of some butterflies. Each one is beautiful in it’s own rights. No two butterflies can be compared as each one is different. Each one is special. Each one is beautiful.

The butterfly calls you to expand your awareness and spread your wings and call forth your inner joy. Let go of limitations and free yourself to express your own beauty within. Likewise we don’t always see the good qualities that we possess, so we need to do some soul searching. Listen to what others have to say as they already see how special you are.

Butterfly brings color and lightness to your life. Color is an important part of our daily life and can affect how we respond to various situations. (you can read more about color here.)

Change and Transformation

If you are going through changes or transitions in your life right now, study the butterfly to make these changes beneficial, joyful, and rewarding. All change is good – even if it may not seem so at the time. Change is what life is made of and is necessary to growth, and accomplishment.

The butterfly/Caterpillar’s wisdom includes:-

  • The power of the whirlwind
  • Reincarnation
  • Transformation
  • Transmutation
  • and magic.

When the butterfly appears to you as your Spirit Guide you will know this is a time of spiritual transition. Symbolic of moving from one place to the next, reaching higher, reaching outward to your goals and dreams. A time of self discovery and rebirth. The butterfly shows the beauty within.

People who believe in spirit guides believe the butterfly to be a spirit that will continue in life in one form or another. The butterfly doesn’t die, just goes through different forms of metamorphosis  People who have butterflies as guides rarely fear death and some of the most likely to believe in such concepts as reincarnation

Taking care of myself

Wow. This is one beautifully written post, that I can relate to on all levels. Thank you for sharing.

Emerging From The Dark Night

Self care

Taking care of myself doesn’t always come naturally to me.  I have been thinking a lot lately of the times I gave in to other’s requests or demands and in the process I ended up abandoning myself and my own needs, not being fully aware at the time.   I am not sure if it was totally motivated by people pleasing or a desire to be liked or more so that as a soft person I am often overpowered by those with a strong will, or have been in the past.  Anyway what ever happened in the past are mistakes that I need to learn from and leave firmly in the past.

I am aware that one of the consequences of emotional neglect or abandonment in childhood is that we don’t learn to know our needs and wants and value those or even feel we have the right to have them. …

PLEASE HEAR WHAT I AM NOT SAYING

I can relate to the poem as I also have lived in a prison of darkness. I have also written a poem about a prison, but not as well written as this one. Thank you for sharing your feelings in this beautifully written poem

TRUTHS MY SISTERS TOLD ... Raising Mental Awareness

Don’t be fooled by me.

Don’t be fooled by the face I wear

For I wear a mask, I wear a thousand masks.

Masks that I am afraid to take off

And none of them are me.

Pretending is an art that is second nature to me

But don’t be fooled … for God’s sake don’t be fooled.

I give you the impression that I’m secure,

That all is sunny and unruffled with me,

Within me as well as without,

That confidence is my name and coolness my game,

And that I need no one.

But don’t believe me.

PLEASE!

My surface may seem smooth but my surface is my mask.

My ever varying and ever concealing mask

Beneath which lies no smugness, no complacency.

Beneath dwells the real me, in confusion, in fear, alone.

But I hide this.

I don’t want anyone to know.

I panic at the thought…

You are who you are by Russell Keller.

A Poem: You Are Who You Are by Russell Kelfer

Poetry

You are who you are for a reason.

You’re part of an intricate plan.

You’re a precious and perfect unique design,

Called God’s special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.

Our God made no mistake.

He knit you together within the womb,

You’re just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,

And no matter how you may feel,

They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind,

And they bear the Master’s seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.

And God wept that it hurt you so;

But it was allowed to shape your heart.

So that into his likeness you’d grow.

You are who you are for a reason,

You’ve been formed by the Master’s rod.

You are who you are, beloved,

Because there is a God!

POEM: Don’t Quit

Poem – Don’t Quit

dont-quit9

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
